Version 2026-07-v1
Founding Buyer Terms
Effective July 20, 2026
1. The Founding Buyer Program
Small Batch grants an approved subset of early buyers a Founding Buyer designation and a first-order credit of up to $10. These terms govern both benefits. The program is limited to buyers in Texas during the Small Batch beta period.
Spots are limited to 25 approved Founding Buyers. Submitting an application does not guarantee approval. Small Batch reviews every application manually and may approve or decline applications at its sole discretion.
2. The $10 First-Order Credit
Upon approval, an approved Founding Buyer receives a single first-order credit of up to $10 (USD). The credit is applied automatically against the merchandise subtotal of the buyer's first qualifying order placed through Small Batch.
The credit is account-bound and non-transferable. It cannot be shared, sold, gifted, or applied to another buyer's account. It is applied automatically at checkout — no coupon code is required or accepted.
If the merchandise subtotal of the qualifying order is less than $10, the credit equals the merchandise subtotal. Unused credit does not carry forward to future orders.
3. What the Credit Covers
The credit applies only to the merchandise subtotal of a qualifying first order. It does not apply to, and does not reduce, the buyer service fee, delivery fee, or any taxes.
The seller receives their full proceeds. Small Batch funds the subsidy directly from its own platform balance; the credit is not deducted from the seller's payout.
4. Qualifying Orders
A qualifying order is a completed checkout resulting in a successful payment through the Small Batch platform. Orders that fail payment processing do not consume the credit. If a seller declines an order, or if Small Batch has to refund an order because of a platform or payment-system failure, the benefit may be restored after refund processing and seller subsidy reversal are complete.
Buyer-initiated cancellations, goodwill refunds, and partial refunds do not automatically restore the benefit. The credit has no cash value, and buyers never receive unused subsidized value as cash.
The credit applies to the buyer's first qualifying order only. Each approved Founding Buyer account receives one credit, used once, regardless of the order amount.
5. Activation and Timing
The first-order credit activates when Small Batch enables the benefit for approved accounts. Approval into the Founding Buyer program does not guarantee an immediate activation date. Small Batch will notify approved buyers by email when the credit goes live.
6. Location information
The Founding Buyer application asks for your name, phone number, and Texas address. Small Batch uses this information to confirm Texas eligibility, support manual review, understand where buyer demand is growing, and support future pickup or delivery functionality.
Application address information is not shown publicly. A Texas address and ZIP code are eligibility signals for review; they do not guarantee approval or independently verify identity.
7. Founding Buyer Designation
The Founding Buyer designation is permanent for as long as the approved buyer account remains active and in good standing. It is not time-limited and is associated with the specific buyer account that received approval.
The designation is not transferable to another account, person, or entity.
8. Good Standing
Small Batch may revoke the Founding Buyer designation and any unused credit if a buyer account is found to have engaged in fraud, abuse, material breach of the Small Batch Buyer Terms, unlawful activity, or if the account is terminated by Small Batch for cause. A revoked credit cannot be reinstated.
9. No Cash Value
The first-order credit has no cash value and may not be exchanged for cash, store credit, or any other form of compensation. If an order is refunded after the credit has been applied, the refund will reflect the amount the buyer actually paid (i.e., after the credit was applied). The credit itself is not refunded.
10. Changes to the Program
Small Batch may modify or discontinue the Founding Buyer program at any time. Modification or discontinuation of the program after a credit has been reserved for a specific qualifying checkout session does not affect that session. Credits that have already been applied to a completed, paid order are not affected by subsequent changes to program terms.
11. Acceptance
By joining the Founding Buyer program, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms, as well as the Small Batch Buyer Terms, which continue to apply. These terms are in addition to, not a replacement of, the standard buyer terms.
